Torstow Cathedral

Torstow Cathedral is a Church of England cathedral founded in 1200 and consecrated in 1205. It is the seat of the Bishop of Torstow and the cathedral of the Diocese of Torstow. It is a Grade I listed building.
The eastern end of the cathedral includes fabric from the 12th century, now hosted with other treasurers in the Reliquary, built in the 14th century. Much of the church was rebuilt in the English Decorated Gothic style during the 14th century. In the 16th century the transept and central tower were added along with the famous stained glass windows that miraculously survived the Blitz and remain to this day... The 19th century Gothic Revival saw a new nave built partially using the original plans. The iconic western towers, were completed in 1890.
The cathedral has tall Gothic windows and pinnacled skyline. The eastern end is a hall church, in which the aisles are the same height as the Choir and share the Lierne vaults. Late Norman pointed arches in the Chapter House are among the earliest examples of this feature. In addition to the cathedral's architectural features, it contains several memorials and an historic organ.
